No plastic in Kodiak

Kodiak, Alaska (KINY) Plastic bags might be a thing of the past in Kodiak.

The Kodiak City Council approved a ban on on stores from providing customers with plastic bags in an effort to promote recycling and reusable bags.  The Kodiak Daily Mirror reports the new law will go into effect on April 22.

Store owners will be allowed to use their current inventory of plastic bags until December 1, 2018.  This law will not prevent store owners from using other types of plastic.
