Organic Tarragon Recalled for Possible Salmonella Contamination

    Juneau, AK (KINY) - Organic Tarragon shipped to Alaska has been recalled for possible Salmonella contamination.

    A recall has be set for Organic Tarragon Lot No. OTW100134 by Spicely Organics. The tarragon leaves were packaged in 0.4oz glass jars with black caps with marks "best if used by 12/31/20 OTW100134."

    DEC's Food Safety and Sanitation Program confirmed that the recalled tarragon was distributed to Alaska. Those who purchased this product can return it to the point of sale for a full refund.  

    Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

    No illnesses have been reported yet.
