Parish on Special Session Suggested to be Held in Anchorage

Juneau, AK (KINY) - One Anchorage lawmaker has suggested that the special legislative session scheduled to convene on Monday, October 23 should be held in Alaska's largest city rather than the Capital City.

Juneau Representative Justin Parish was asked on Action Line today where he will be on that date. . .

"I'll be here in Juneau with the rest of legislature, even the naysayers and complainers. There are perennial suggestions [to do things in Anchorage]. This is one of those zombie issues, it gets no traction, but it keeps coming up. The biggest threat is the continuation in capital creep. We've lost hundreds of jobs being transferred up to Anchorage and we need to everything we can to cement the capital here."
