UPDATE: CCFR seeking information related to Lemon Creek blaze

    Powerful explosions, smoke, and fire in the Lemon Creek area were reported by witnesses Sunday morning.

    UPDATE: Capital City Fire and Rescue is looking for information related to a fire that took place the morning of June 5th.

    Capital City Fire Rescue Fire Marshal's Office is investigating this fire as an intentional set fire.

    "CCFR was dispatched at approximately 6:00 a.m. to what was reported as a camper fire," according to Captain Roy Johnson. "On arrival, a camper and two out buildings were found to be on fire. The fire was quickly extinguished."

    According to Johnson, one firefighter received minor injuries.

    The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Anyone with information related to this incident is encouraged to contact the Fire Marshal's office.

    Powerful explosions, smoke, and fire in the Lemon Creek area were reported by witnesses on Facebook Sunday morning.

    Initial reports indicate it was a storage or garbage shed that caught fire near Competitive Edge.

    Juneau Police confirmed responding to a fire in that area and that the fire is out.

    News of the North is awaiting further information from Capital City Fire Rescue and/or Juneau Police.
