Petersburg, Alaska (KINY) First an unknown painter started showcasing his skills on Juneau streets. Then Ketchikan had trouble with paint used to stripe the middle of state roads. Now it is Petersburg's turn.
The latest report has motorists in Petersburg upset because the paint used by the state to paint yellow lines, smeared across the road and left stains on passing vehicles. The Alaska Department of Transportation acknowledged the paint is taking longer than expected to dry. They offered an apology. The ADOT will attempt to find a solution. Juneau is next on the list of roads due to be painted but ADOT could use a different paint for our roads.
The mystery painter in Juneau hasn't painted any streets since August.
