Russian Ambassador to visit Sitka on Wednesday

    Sitka, Alaska (KINY) - Russian Ambassador Anatoly Antonov will visit Sitka Wednesday.

    According to Renee D. Wheat, the Administrative Coordinator for the City and Borough of Sitka, the following is the itinerary for his historical and cultural tour.

    10 a.m. - Welcome to Sitka by Mayor Gary Paxton

    10:30 - 11 a.m. - Castle Hill Historical Site/Russian Shipyard/etc

    11 a.m. - 12 noon - Old Sitka / Site of 1802 Battle

    12 noon - Break for lunch (Box lunch at Totem Park)

    1:30 p.m. - Viewing of Russian Possession Plaque /NPS museum

    1:30 - 2:30 p.m. - Russian Bishops House visit (tour at 1:45 or 2:15)

    2:30 - 3 p.m. - St. Michaels

    3 - 4 p.m. - St. Yakov

    4 p.m. - Sitka Historical Museum
