SEADOGS assist in finding 3 lost Juneau hikers

    The SEADOGS were called to assist Alaska State Troopers in finding three lost hikers in the Spaulding Meadows area Saturday night.

    The SEADOGS were called to assist Alaska State Troopers in finding three lost hikers in the Spaulding Meadows area Saturday night around 6:00.

    The women were able to call 911 from a cell phone.

    Juneau Mountain Rescue and the Southeast Alaska Dogs for Organized Ground Search teams found and escorted them safely to the trail head. There were no injuries.

    The US Forest Service says the Spaulding Trail is 3.1 miles long, begins at Glacier Highway mile 12.3, and is extremely muddy during the warm seasons.
