Seaplane is missing

    Sitka, Alaska (KINY) The Coast Guard reported the seaplane was last seen on Saturday.

    USCG Station Juneau and the Sitka Air station have provided assets to the search which began Saturday.  The plane, a Piper PA-18 super cab had two people on board.  It departed from the Sitka seaplane docks for what was described as a 20-25 minute tour of Katlian Bay and Olga Strait.

    The Coast Guard provided a helicopter and a fast response cutter to the search which continued all night Saturday and today.  Also involved in the search are Alaska State Troopers, the Civil Air Patrol and the Air National Guard.

    Conditions were favorable for the search with five miles of visibility and seven mile per hour winds.
