Juneau remembers September 11th

    JUNEAU, Alaska (KINY) by Lori James and Jerry James - On the 15th anniversary of the September 11th attacks on our country, Juneau came together to never forget.

    Juneau's 2016 September 11th Ceremony was held at Riverside Park.

    It featured welcoming remarks from Karen Tarver, President of Juneau-Glacier Valley Rotary:


    The invocation was provided by Lieutenant Dana Walters:

    Juneau Police supplied the Color Guard and Abigail Hoy sang the National Anthem:


    The significance of the monument was explained by Andrew Bishop, Firefighter/EMT, Capital City Fire Rescue.

    Lieutenant Kris Sell of the Juneau Police Department gave the Invitation to Remember:

    Mayor Ken Koelsch performed the Laying of the Wreath.
