Seven indicted for various crimes

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) A grand jury found enough evidence to indict two on drug charges, two for violations at Lemon Creek Correctional, one for domestic violence and another for robbery.

    Chad Kreftmeyer, 30, was indicted on the promotion of contraband in the first degree for an incident on April 30, 2018, at Lemon Creek Correctional.  No further details were available.

    Brendon Valdez, 27, was indicted on the promotion of contraband in the first degree for an incident January 21, 2018, at Lemon Creek.  Prison guards said they found a metal shank in his locker.  Valdez had nine prior convictions in Alaska for crimes that include DUI, drug possession, and theft.

    Giancarlo Gomez, 39, was indicted on two counts of assault in the third degree.  Juneau Police said they received a 911 call on September 6 of a woman who said she was kidnapped and thrown from a vehicle on Egan Drive.  She told police the suspect had a gun.  Police also saw a text message to the victim where Gomez allegedly threatened to kill himself in front of her children in her apartment.  Police found the armed man in a field near the apartment complex and seized a .40 caliber pistol.

    Dustin Fisher, 25, was indicted on misconduct involving a controlled substance in the second degree.  The U.S Customs service intercepted a parcel on August 21 that allegedly contained 31 grams of illegal narcotics from China.  Juneau Police said the package was delivered to a home on Mendenhall Loop Road and the suspect told them he was only using the drugs for weekend parties.

    Daniel Williams, 28, was indicted on two charges of assault in the second degree and two counts of assault in the third degree.  A female victim claimed he strangled and beat her in a tent camp near Riverbend Elementary on September 8.  Police said the motive appeared to be jealousy.

    Patrick Hill, 50, was indicted on charges of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the second degree.  Police said they intercepted a package in the US Mail that contained 28 grams of methamphetamine on September 7. 

    Pavel Bogatko, 28, was indicted on robbery in the second degree and theft in the second-degree charges.  Police said he tried to steal $930 in-store merchandise from Sportsman's Warehouse on September 5.  He allegedly swung an ax at a worker who tried to stop him and ran off.  Police located him nearby after a tip from an eye witness and surveillance video from surrounding businesses.
