Ketchikan, Alaska (KINY) A convicted sex offender allegedly failed to tell the truth to Alaska State Troopers and went to jail.
A Ketchikan man was charged with failure to register as a sex offender in the first degree September 29. Alaska State Troopers said Cody Mathwig, 29, was contacted near 400 Tongass Avenue and provided two false addresses to Troopers when they questioned him. He was held without bail at the Ketchikan Correctional Center. Mathwig was convicted of attempted sexual abuse of a minor in Sitka back in 2007.
