Seward, Alaska (KINY) A 71 year old Seward man is behind bars on multiple charges for allegedly firing off a shotgun while drinking, injuring another man, Alaska State Troopers said.
Troopers said Stephen Flitter was charged with two counts of third degree assault, one count of misconduct involving a weapon in the second degree and one count of misconduct involving a weapon in the fourth degree. He is behind bars without privilege of bond.
The report stated Troopers were dispatched to a report of a disturbance with shots fired near mile seven on the Seward Highway on Sunday evening. The report also said a neighbor had fired several rounds toward the director of a Conex box, or storage container, two of his neighbors were working on. Troopers went on to say that one of the rounds from the shotgun grazed the man's head and cut the top of his ear. They added that alcohol was involved. The injured man was not hospitalized.
