Skateboarder struck and killed by car

    Anchorage, Alaska (KINY) An 18 year old was struck and killed while he rode his skateboard last Thursday

    Anchorage Police released the name of the victim, Elmer Earl Selvester on Monday.  He was struck at the intersection of Bragaw Street and Northern Lights Boulevard.  The crash investigation is ongoing but no charges have been filed.  Selvester was not wearing a helmet.  Police said he he was in the cross walk but did not have the crossing signal at the time of the crash.  Anchorage Police went on to state that 23 pedestrians and cyclists have been struck in Anchorage in 2017.
