Southeast Alaska teams score at State Track and Field Championships

    The State Track & Field Championships took place at Dimond High School in Anchorage this past weekend, with representatives from almost all Southeast schools in attendance.

    In the small school division, both Sitka and Petersburg had strong showings highlighted by Sitka Boy’s 4x400 meter relay win and three individual titles going to Petersburg’s Izabelle Ith. 

    In the large School Division, the Juneau-Douglas duo of Ashleigh Neal and Brianna Fallis took 5th  in the Unified Long Jump.

    Thunder Mountain came away with 14 top 5 State performances, including a win in the boy’s 4x100 relay and three individual Championship titles by Naomi Welling.  The Thunder Mountain Team topped off it’s historic weekend with the Girl’s State Sportsmanship Award.
