North Slope Borough police arrest 27-year-old man suspected of firing a gun at officers.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Police in the North Slope Borough have arrested a 27-year-old man suspected of firing a gun at officers Monday in Barrow.

Herbert Adams is charged with attempted murder and attempted felony assault. Online court records did not indicate he was represented by an attorney.

The borough in an announcement says Adams was arrested at a cabin 30 miles outside of Barrow.

Police at about 6 p.m. Monday took a call of shots fired at a home. When officers arrived, shots directed at officers rang out from the home.

The suspect fled and no one was injured.

The borough says Adams called search and rescue personnel by VHF radio Wednesday night to report he was unarmed in the cabin and that he needed assistance.

He was transported to Barrow and jailed.
