Suspected arson fire reported at Thunder Mountain High School

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - A fire suspected to be intentionally set sent Capital City Fire Rescue to Thunder Mountain High School late Tuesday morning.

    Assistant  Fire Chief Ed Quinto said the alarm came in at about ten o'clock.  Responding fire fighters found the fire in a boy's bathroom located in what is called the "purple wing."

    The chief says the fire was knocked down by the sprinkler system.  He says the fire was confined to the bathroom. with damage estimated at $2,500.

    The Fire Marshal and the Juneau Police Department are investigating the fire as a case of arson, according to the chief.

    He says there were no injuries.  Everyone was outside the building by the time the fire department arrived on scene.  The chief says all students were accounted for.
