Teen found guilty of murder

Palmer, Alaska (KINY) 18-year-old Erick Almandinger was found guilty of multiple charges in the murder of a 16 year old.

The verdict was returned late Thursday.  Almandinger was convicted of first degree murder, kidnapping and other charges.  He was one of four men charged in the murder of David Grunwald, a high school classmate in November, 2016.

Prosecutors contend Almandinger played a critical role in the homicide.  They have not indicated who fired the shots that killed him.  Grunwald was pistol whipped at a trailer owned by Almandinger's father, was driven to another location, and shot to death.  His body was located on December 2, 2016, three weeks after he was reported missing.

KTUU News was the first to report the story.
