Tennessee lawmaker cites Alaska while decrying Obamacare

(ABC) - Alaska is one of five states highlighted in this past week's Republican address of Senator Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, who decries the rising costs of insurance plans in Obamacare health exchanges.

Senator Alexander says the GOP has a plan to lower costs by giving families the option to purchase cheaper plans outside of the exchanges.

"People buying on Obamacare exchanges will have only one insurer to choose from in five states next year -- Alabama, Alaska, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Wyoming -- according to the Kaiser Family Foundation."

According to the senator, exchanges across the country are on the verge of collapse.
