Troopers find dead man on vessel aground South Island near Juneau

    Alaska State Troopers report finding a dead man aboard a grounded vessel Sunday afternoon.

    Alaska State Troopers report finding a dead man aboard a grounded vessel Sunday afternoon.

    According to a bulletin, Alaska State Troopers were alerted by the United States Coast Guard of an overdue 27 foot vessel from Juneau.  The USCG located the overdue vessel at 1:20 p.m. aground on South Island which is south of Juneau.

    The deceased male was identified as 62 year old Paul Fredrick of Juneau. No foul play is suspected at this time and next of kin have been notified.
