Two Young People lost from Collision with Moose in Aniak

    Aniak, AK (KINY) - Early morning Saturday, a snow machine collision with a moose took the lives of two young people in Aniak.

    According to Alaska State Troopers dispatch reports,

    AST received a report of two deceased near the basketball courts off of Airport Boulevard in Aniak. Aniak troopers responded to the scene with the Aniak Physician’s Assistant (P.A.) and Health Aide. After investigation, it was determined that the two were Charles Lang Jr, 28-years-old, and a 16-year-old girl, who was also named in the dispatch report. They had been riding on a snow machine when they hit a moose and were thrown from the vehicle where they passed away. The moose was later found in the woods nearby and was deceased.

    Next of kin of both deceased persons were notified. State Medical Examiner was also notified. Investigation continues.
