United Way taking applications for Community Impact Grants

Organizations must be category 501(c)(3) nonprofits to qualify for a grant.

United Way of Southeast Alaska is taking applications for its Community Impact Grants.

CEO Wayne Stevens had more details while a guest on Capital Chat Monday.

"As a part of our campaign each fall people are able to designate either to an agency, to United Way, or to a specific area of influence, education, income stability, and health," Stevens explained. "As we gather that funding then we go and put out some grants and from those dollars we're able to offer our Community Impact grant. It is open until the end of the month, so if people are interested in applying on behalf of Social Service type organizations, there will be $15,000 awarded in July from those grant applications."

Organizations must be category 501(c)(3) nonprofits to qualify for a grant.

If you think your organization would be a good fit for a Community Impact Grant, visit United Way's website to apply.
