The Primary Election is today, August 16th. Polls are open 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. The election will offer voters the chance to select senators and representatives at both the state and national level.

On the Alaska Republican Party ballot, voters will choose from:
Thomas Lamb, Bob Lochner, Lisa Murkowski, and Paul Kendall for US Senator.
Jesse J Messy Tingley, Stephen T. Wright, Don Young, and Gerald L. Heikes for US Representative.
Cathy Munoz is unopposed for State Representative District 34. Munoz, the republican Incumbent, will face off against Democrat Justin Parish in November's General Election. They are unopposed in today's Primary Election for their party's nomination.
Candidates from the Alaska Democratic Party, the Alaska Libertarian Party, or the Alaskan Independence Party include:
Edgar Blatchfor (D), Ray Metcafe (D) and Cean (See Ann) Stevens (L) for US Senator.
Jim C. McDermottf (L), Jon B. Watts (L), William D. "Bill" Hibler (D), Lynette "Moreno" Hinz (D), and Steve Lindbeck (D) for US Representative.
Again, Justin Parish is unopposed for the party's nomination and will run against incumbent Cathy Munoz, (R) for District 34 in November.
Make sure to bring identification when going to vote. If your name is not on the list or you don’t have ID, you may vote a questioned ballot. The questioned ballot updates your voter registration.
If you need language or other assistance while voting, ask the election board or bring somebody to assist you. Bilingual outreach workers and poll workers will be in the polling place to assist voters on Election Day.
