Voter turnout reaches 28.5% in Juneau’s election

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - A count of questioned and absentee ballots cast in Juneau’s election Tuesday increased voter turnout to 28.5 percent.

    It stood at 21.3 percent following the count of votes from the 13 precincts.


    There were 462 questioned ballots and 1,230 absentee ballots counted Friday.


    No outcomes were changed as a result.


    Additional absentee ballots postmarked by election day will be added to the count next week.


    The Canvass Board is scheduled to certify the election results Tuesday.
