Washington man on release attemps to flee Ketchikan

    JUNEAU, Alaska (KINY, Lori James) - Zerisenay Gebregiorgis (age 34 of Washington State) was arrested without incident by the Alaska State Troopers Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit at the Ketchikan International Airport when he attempted to depart Ketchikan for Seattle Saturday night on a commercial airline in violation of his conditions of release.

    He was out on bail for two counts of Conspiracy to Commit Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree.  Gebregiorgis was taken before a Judge with the Ketchikan Court where he was ordered to be remanded at the Ketchikan Correctional Center with an additional $10,000 bail (in addition to his current $25,000 bail) and pending the appointment of a court approved third party custodian.  

    The Ketchikan Airport Police and the Alaska State Troopers from the Ketchikan Post assisted.
