UPDATE: Water line break near Airport

    JUNEAU, Alaska (KINY) - CBJ Utility Staff have repaired the water line break in the vicinity of the Airport.

    5:00 p.m. Wednesday Sept. 7th

    Water should be restored to all residents, although lower pressures may be experienced in the Valley for the next day or more.  

    The CBJ thanks residents for their patience.  


    7:00 a.m. Wednesday Sept. 7th

    CBJ Utility Staff have isolated and are working to repair a major water line break in the vicinity of the Airport.

    Residents in the vicinity of the Travelodge and Best Western may be out of water until the leak is repaired.

    Residents in the Valley may experience lower water pressures than normal, but otherwise normal water use is encouraged.


    4:00 a.m. Wednesday Sept. 7th

    CBJ Utility Staff are working to repair a major water line break in the vicinity of the Airport. 

    The 24-inch water line has broken and drained most of the water in the Valley reservoirs. 

    Many residents may be out of water this morning. 

    The CBJ is asking all residents to conserve water this morning and until further notice. 

    CBJ Utility Staff and contractors are on scene and working to restore water as soon as possible.
