Whale sculpture coming to Juneau early August

City Manager Rorie Watt says the life-sized focal point of Bridge Park will be arriving in town early next month.

In an update on progress on construction of Bridge Park, City Manager Rorie Watt said on Action Line Friday that the focal point of the park will be arriving in town early next month.

"We finished the first phase of the earthworks, which is the island, the fill, and the foundation for the whale sculpture. Now you can see the crane out there doing the second phase of the pile-supported seawalk. The whale sculpture is really life-sized and I think it's really going to be pretty exciting. Just look for public notices on that; you're going to see a whale sculpture before too long."

Watt said the whale sculpture is expected to arrive August 8th.
