Woman Avoids Jail for Embezzlement

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Leeann Tagsip, 37, received five years probation and was ordered by the court to pay restitution to her victims.

An 18 month suspended jail sentence was imposed by Judge Louis Menendez. The original charges included two counts of theft in the second degree, and two counts of forgery in the second degree.

Three charges were dismissed in the case.

Tagsip was originally charged with stealing $50,000 from her employer, North Pacific Erectors back in 2015. She worked for the contracting firm as project administrator.

She apparently purchased a Range Rover, BMW, went on high dollar vacations, and bought expensive clothing with the stolen money.
