Committee hears update on Centennial Hall

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The CBJ Public Works and Facilities Committee Monday reaffirmed its decision last December to proceed with the design of improvements at Centennial Hall.

Jensen Yorba Wall Inc. was selected by the CBJ Engineering Department for design and construction administration services for the
    renovation upgrades to Centennial Hall.

The estimated price for the full design is $600,000.

The improvements would include replacement of mechanical and electrical systems that include a new heat plant and electrical switchgear, renovation of the ballrooms including operable partition upgrades or replacement, lighting replacement, acoustic upgrades, and replacement of finishes.

It would also include renovation and expansion of the existing lobby and other improvements.

The assembly chose to invest $7 million in renovations for the facility.
