COVID-19 update 10-25

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - 45 positive cases of COVID-19 were reported in Juneau from Oct. 23-25, by the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS), 44 are residents and one was a nonresident. Currently, there are 4 people hospitalized at Bartlett Regional Hospital for the virus.

    The Juneau School District reported three new individuals who’ve tested positive, two at Juneau-Douglas High School, related to an extracurricular activity, and one at the Juneau Community Charter School.

    Statewide the DHSS reported 1,686 new cases, 1,661 residents and 25 nonresidents. The state also reported five recent deaths, a Kodiak man in his 50s, an Anchorage woman in her 50s, an Anchorage man in his 50s, an Anchorage woman in her 70s, and a Wasilla man in his 40s.
