Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - On Friday at about 1:30 p.m., staff at the Juneau International Airport notified the police department that they were made aware of a bomb threat toward airports in Alaska.
The original threat was made by email, with no specific location in Juneau.
The email had been sent on Thursday, Sept. 21 but was filtered as junk mail, and not identified until Friday.
The FBI's office in Anchorage is investigating the report, but they do not believe the threats are credible.
Operations at the Juneau International Airport remained vigilant but were otherwise unaffected.
This information comes from the Juneau Police Department.
JPD will continue to monitor the situation and notify the community if there is any change to the credibility of the threats.
If the FBI provides any additional information that can be released to the public, JPD will provide it.
