Firemen handle boat fire

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) A 38-foot boat sustained $1,000 in property damage Friday at end end of Brandy Lane.

    Capital City Fire Rescue Chief Ed Quinto said the cause appeared to be electrical in nature.  Firemen were dispatched to the scene at 1:38 pm and found smoke coming from the boat motor upon arrival.

    Quinto said the owner of the boat had put out the fire with a fire extinguisher.  He said there were no injuries.  The boat was turned over to the owner who plans to repair it.
