Man arrested in Wasilla for shooting rifle at a bar

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - A man was arrested early Wednesday morning after authorities were informed that someone was firing shots at a Wasilla bar.

    Troopers responded 45 minutes past midnight to assist Wasilla Police regarding the gunshots.

    It was reported an intoxicated man with a rifle had shot several rounds in the parking lot and drove away in a pick-up truck.

    Troopers and Wasilla PD later pulled over the pickup, the driver had exited the truck unarmed but said he would not comply with commands from law enforcement.

    The man then attempted to enter a business but was tased by troopers and taken into custody.

    The man was arrested and charged with Misconduct Involving Weapons, Assault, DUI, and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.

    He was remanded into custody at Mat Su Pretrial in Palmer and held without bail.
