Negative COVID-19 test will be required for entry into Hoonah

    Hoonah, Alaska (KINY) - Effective Monday, Oct. 26, 2020, all incoming travelers to Hoonah must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of arrival or commit to testing provided by the City of Hoonah in partnership with the Hoonah Indian Association.

    This travel restriction covers all modes of transportation into Hoonah, including ferry, airplane, and private boat.

    With a negative COVID-19 test, visitors are asked to minimize interactions with the public, meaning stay out of stores, restaurants, bars, the post office, churches, and coffee shops for the first 72 hours.

    After 72 hours, visitors are required to take a second test. Those refusing a second test will have to quarantine for 14 days.
