Pandemic doctor tries to find cure

Washington, DC (ABC) - A doctor featured on the series "Pandemic" is hard at work using his skills to find a cure for the coronavirus.

Netflix sensation Dr. Jacob Glanville said accelerated human trials could be done this summer and if all goes according to plan, a treatment could be available before the fall.

Glanville's company is working with antibodies that were used to treat the 2002 SARS outbreak. (severe acute respiratory syndrome).

They modify them in a lab to make them more effective in neutralizing COVID-19.

"Our challenge right now is a race against time to be able to manufacture them quickly enough and distribute them out to people who need them all over the world," he said.

The next step is for the military to test them on live coronavirus.
