Spice it Up restaurant fire being investigated as arson

    Fairbanks, Alaska (KINY) - On Tuesday, May 16 at approximately 12:20 am, the Fairbanks Emergency Communications Center received multiple 911 calls reporting a fire at Spice it Up restaurant, located at 3226 Airport Way.

    The first arriving units from Fairbanks Fire Department arrived in under 5 minutes to find a food truck fully engulfed in flames along with the exterior and roof of the building on fire.

    Mutual aid was received by the University Fire Department and Fort Wainwright Fire Department.

    This is an ongoing investigation in coordination with Fairbanks Police Department and is being investigated as arson.
