Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Assembly Committee of the Whole looks at the ordinance proposed to establish a Systemic Racism Review Committee at its meeting Monday evening.
Following its introduction last week, the ordinance was referred to the committee for further discussion.
The panel will also review recommendations from the Economic Stability Task Force on child care that would be put in place through the duration of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Assembly Lands and Resources Committee convenes an hour earlier. Members will receive an update on the request by Taku Terrace to purchase a parcel of land adjacent to the Evergreen Cemetery.
The panel will receive a water quality update and discuss programs aimed at increasing housing downtown which includes the upstairs housing inventory and providing incentives through tax abatement.
The Public Works and Facilities Committee meeting over the noon hour Monday will also be briefed on downtown housing programs. Members will be told that the manager will proceed with the purchase of land for the Valley Transit Center. The committee will also review potential streets and energy efficiency building maintenance projects that should proceed if voters approve the bond package that will appear on the October 6 local election ballot.
