Three held on various charges after jail break

    Stebbins, Alaska (KINY) - Alaska State Troopers said three men were arrested for allegedly stealing two four wheelers and later threatening officers with steel pipes, an ax and an anchor.

    Richard Hunt, 32, Michael Raymond, 23, and Paul Pete, 25, face charges that include attempted murder in the second degree, two counts of vehicle theft, criminal mischief in the third degree, 11 counts of assault in the third degree, escape, two counts of kidnapping, and resisting arrest.

    Troopers report Hunt tried to run over several people with a stolen four-wheeler.  After Hunt was arrested, the other two suspects reportedly entered the jail, assaulted the village public safety officer, and broke Hunt out of jail.

    The investigation is ongoing and further charges could be filed.
