Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Goldbelt Tram has announced plans to open for the 2021 summer season on May 15 but will be operating on a limited schedule after a yearlong closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The limited schedule the Goldbelt Tram will be operating on is Friday through Sunday, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Unscheduled days to be determined on a “good weather” basis and will be announced on the tram’s social media pages.
Individuals visiting the Tram in the coming months will notice some changes to the lower terminal and mountain house, as well as the enclosure that houses rescued bald eagle Lady Baltimore.
Tram management used the 2020 closure to fast-track planned renovations.
McHugh Pierre, president and CEO of the tram's parent company Goldbelt Incorporated, had good news to share for those with 2020 season passes. He says they will maintain their season pass privileges for this season and also the 2022 season.
