    Health officials in the state are still learning more about the new COVID variant as it continues to be identified in a majority of the states in the country, they say that it might already be circulating in the state.

    A fatal traffic accident was reported by Alaska State Troopers near Mile 55 of the Parks Highway late Friday morning.

    A Kotzebue man was sentenced to 20 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release for charges relating to the repeated sexual abuse of a minor.
