    Alaska Department of Fish and Game issued a series of emergency orders last Thursday restricting and closing King Salmon Sport Fisheries around Cook Inlet.

    President Joe Biden has made fighting climate change a core part of his agenda. But his recent decision on Monday to give the go-ahead to an oil drilling project has infuriated environmental activists, prompting a lawsuit to reverse the Willow project.

    The City and Borough of Juneau is experiencing area-wide street flooding conditions.

    JPD is down 11 officers and may have two other officers retiring soon. Chief Ed Mercer says this staffing issue is nationwide. However, sign-on and retention bonuses, as well as branding JPD with a unique campaign are all being explored.

    The Juneau Arts and Humanities Council is accepting applications for art exhibits for the upcoming gallery season. The deadline is May 15.
