The Juneau Police Department received a call about a person who had been shot in the 9100 block of Cinema Drive on 7-6. This morning a suspect was detained. Later in the day, the suspect, Andre P. Lawrence, was arrested for first degree murder.
On June 25th, the Sitka Police Department received a call regarding a burglary of a Lincoln Street business that had occurred overnight.
Juneau Softball Association is holding its Rainball Tournament from July 27th to the 30th.
NOAA’s Alaska Marine Mammal Stranding hotline received reports identifying two separate entangled whales in the Juneau area on July 3rd.
The City and Borough of Juneau and the Southeast Alaska Association for the Education of Young Children are seeking letters of interest from individuals or organizations who would benefit from grant funding for needs related to the start-up or expansion of a licensed child care program in Juneau.
